     Beginner - How to use your DSLR  -- $400

    Course Details

    Entry level course teaches you the basics of how to use your DSLR with a very hands-on focus. By the end of this half-day 4 hour course you will have acquired a sound knowledge of all the fundamental settings of your DSLR and leave you with the confidence to switch-off Auto mode and begin taking advantage of the creative possibilities that semi-manual and manual shooting modes deliver.

    This private course is designed for those newbies who have purchased or are looking to purchase a DSLR but don't know how to properly use one.

    Mastering your DSLR -- $400

    Course Details

    Once you know the basics of how to operate your DSLR it's now time to really understand the full capabilities of your camera. Designed also as a half-day 4 hour course, the Mastering your DSLR course will leave you feeling confident that you understand what each control hidden behind the menu is responsible for and what affect they have on capturing a photograph.

    Who is this for?

    This private course is designed for those are already have some experience in shooting in the semi-manual modes and understand the basics of their DSLR or for those who have completed the How to use your DSLR beginner course.

    • In camera processing styles
    • JPEG vs. RAW
    • Custom menus and extending and customizing settings

    Portrait - Beginner   $450.00

    Course Details

    Half-day entry level portrait photography courses, this beginner course will equip you with the knowledge to begin capturing portraits, and photographing people in general, that you will be proud of. Put an end to the frustration of achieving poor results and fast-track your learning with this completely customised course to suit your specific needs and skill level.

    Who is this for?

    Suited for those people who are either completely new or have some experience using a DLSR and have a special interest in photographing people and your children/family.

    • Creative composition (Body positioning)
    • Finding the right angle and perspective
    • Capture Fundamentals (Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO, Histogram, Metering, White Balance, Handholding)
    • Creative use of depth of field
    • Focusing
    • Lens/focal length selection - what are the best for portrait photography
    • The importance of lighting how to recognise good and bad lighting
    • Controlling the quality and direction of the light
    • Shooting in RAW vs. JPEG

    Portrait - Advanced  -- $500

     Course Details

    Half-day advanced level portrait photography courses, this course aims to equip you with the knowledge to achieve professional high-quality standard images. 

    Who is this for?

    Suited for those people who have experience in photographing people but want to take their images to a professional quality standard. This course is also designed for those who have completed the beginner equivalent course

    Topics Covered

    • Expression and why it's so important
    • Posing concepts
    • On- and off-camera flash techniques
    • Manipulate lighting using reflectors and diffusers; reflectors to modify lighting and diffusers to soften lighting
    • Solving lighting problems
    • Low light portraits

    In addition to the above, we will also cover any additional specific areas that you would like to learn and you'll be encouraged to ask any questions throughout the course in order to get the absolute most out of it!

    • Camera and manual (with fully charged battery)
    • Lenses
    • Speedlight or external flash (if you have one else we will bring one for you!)
    • Any lighting accessories (i.e. reflectors)
